History and stories

The Pension Schwaiger is a real family business in its third generation, which can look
back on a long history and many stories.

The early years

In 1932 our house was purchased from the Austrian Federal Forestry and became the property of my grandparents George and Rosa Schwaiger.

In 1948 the building was extended.

In 1959 for the first time rooms were rented to guests.
In that time the guests came predominantly from Berlin and were brought to us by the travel agency Napiralla.

In 1970 then the next expansion of our pension took place. The attic was expanded and made an extension.

The eighties and nineties

In the early years especially, summer tourism was very pronounced. With the construction of the Leogang lift system winter tourism grew steadily.

Building our second house happened 1985 by my parents Heidi and Bruno Pichler and there were other
3 guest rooms, a lounge and storeroom is. My parents undertook some renovation work and updated  the room amenities.

In 2003, a separate guest entrance was built.

In the 3rd generation

In 2009 I took over the pension of my parents.

In spring 2010 the first renovation was started. We now have the house completely thermally renovated, exchanged the windows and have switched from oil to wood pellet heating.

We want to carry on along the lines of my grandparents and parents with the same love and dedication.
